Technology Reframing

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore, thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. —Matthew 6:22

Using Technology for Good

Technology is ingrained into most aspects of everyday life. Misuse of it can lead to serious consequences and heartache. However, it can also be leveraged as force for good to increase productivity, spread the gospel, and build relationships. Ensign Roots programs educate youth on how technology affects them, and how to responsibly use it by setting goals and developing good habits.

Ensign Roots trains youth in the neuroscience behind the digital brain and behavioral frameworks to thrive in the digital age.

Teaming up with the Digital Experts

Ensign Roots has teamed up with Dr. Andrew Doan and Julie Doan, the digital experts at RealBattle Ministries, to provide their daily curriculum to educate our participants about behaviors, digital media, and the brain.

Each day Ensign Roots participants work through a unique lesson, discuss it with their peers, and set goals and commitments that lead them to long-term healthier habits.

The daily study program is designed to explain complex neuroscience with biblical truths so that teenagers and parents can understand why excessive behaviors and the overuse of digital media can affect the brain and will harm brain development.

Combating the downfalls of technology

Had much eye contact lately? No? Well, you’re not alone.

Technology can be a wonderful thing. The internet, smartphones, and social media have connected the world and made it a much smaller place.

However, studies (and youth surveys) show a drastic drop in mental well-being and happiness siting increased loneliness, anxiety, and depression.

Soaring rates of depression and anxiety are directly correlated with the increase in screen time.

Ensign Roots’ program is designed specifically with this in mind.

turning off and tuning into the still small voice

Ensign Roots’ program trains youth to become the Christlike leaders of tomorrow—to engage with others, to engage with their Creator.

Feeling, recognizing, and heeding the still small voice is absolutely essential to the happiness of each individual and the success in reaching one’s true potential.

God speaks to His leaders of tomorrow, but they must have ears to hear.
